What are DIN lines? print
Our prices are calculated on the basis of DIN lines (not pages or words).
This is more precise and easier to understand for our clients.

How are DIN lines calculated?
It’s quite simple.

The basic principle is:

1 DIN line = 55 characters including spaces.

  • In MS Word 2003 click on Tools -> Word Count. In MS Word 2007 simply click on Words: (bottom status panel)
  • Divide the number given for “characters (with spaces)” by 55.
  • That’s it! You have the DIN line count.
Tip!:
Bear in mind that Word doesn’t count text contained in graphics, text boxes etc. In such cases it is advisable to use software such as Practicount.
